We have an exciting opportunity in our Bookkeeping team for the right individual to help bring efficiencies into how we work. This is a great role for an individual to come in and make their own whilst working alongside a well-established team providing services to all aspects of Moore Scarrott Group clients.

In this position you be a key member of the bookkeeping team. In time you will manage a organise your own time and share in the responsibility of managing and developing the team of junior trainee staff. The role would involve direct client interaction and the need to be comfortable in being interacting with clients regularly.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Bookkeeper with experience in cloud accounting systems to join our team and provide comprehensive bookkeeping services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to various client needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse clients, leverage cutting-edge technology, and contribute to the growth and success of our firm. You will have an in depth knowledge of cloud-accountings systems and be able to improve the efficiencies in the current team through the streamlining of current process and provide input into new systems and technology that will improve the client service offering.

Responsibilities & Behaviours:

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, or similar platforms.

Record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions.

Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Collaborate with clients and internal team members to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide timely financial insights.

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cloud accounting technology.

Qualifications:

  • ACCA /ACA or AAT Qualification is not essential
  • Individuals with proven experience in Bookkeeping to be considered Qualified by Experience
  • Qualified By Experience
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems and the efficiencies they can provide to an accounting practice.
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, in an accounting practice.
  • Proficient and proven in cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in giving feedback to junior and more senior members of a team.
  • Ability to manage a team.
